Rotate and Flip Image

Correct photo orientation, rotate images, or mirror them horizontally and vertically.

Reviewed Pixores tool guide

Fix Image Orientation Online

Rotate JPG, PNG, and WebP photos by 90, 180, or 270 degrees. You can also mirror images horizontally or vertically while preserving high visual quality.

Photo orientation can come from stored metadata rather than the raw pixel order. Pixores first normalizes the camera orientation, then applies the selected 90-degree rotation and horizontal or vertical mirror operation.

The output keeps PNG, WebP, or JPG based on the source type and uses high-quality encoder settings. Review text and asymmetric objects carefully after mirroring.

Behavior and limits reviewed against the current Pixores implementation on August 14, 2026.

What we verified for this tool

This record describes a reproducible product check, not a stock claim about image quality.

Reference scenario
Phone photo with orientation metadata, a 90-degree turn, and a horizontal mirror
Review method
Normalize orientation first, apply each transform, then inspect text and left-right details in the export.
Observed behavior
Rotation and mirroring are applied after orientation normalization, and supported sources retain their corresponding output format.
Known boundary
The controls work in 90-degree increments and do not provide arbitrary horizon straightening.

How to use this tool

  1. Select the image and let the preview load.
  2. Rotate until the horizon and subject are correct.
  3. Use flip only when a true mirror image is intended.
  4. Download and open the result outside the browser.
  5. Check readable text, logos, and left-right details before publishing.

When it is a good fit

  • Phone photos displayed sideways
  • Correcting scanned pages
  • Mirroring a design element
  • Normalizing orientation before another edit

Limitations to check

  • Mirroring makes text read backward.
  • A rotation does not straighten a tilted horizon by arbitrary degrees.
  • Keep the untouched camera file as the source master.

File handling and privacy

Rotation is performed by the Pixores image endpoint, which receives the file for the requested operation.

Frequently asked questions

Why did my photo look correct before upload?

Some viewers honor orientation metadata while other workflows inspect the underlying pixel order. Normalizing orientation makes the pixels consistent.

Does flip mean rotate?

No. Rotation turns the image; flip creates a mirror across the horizontal or vertical axis.

Will the format change?

Supported JPG, PNG, and WebP sources are returned in the corresponding format with format-specific quality settings.
